Now that 6.0 is out (#2402309: Plan for Twitter v7.x-6.0 release), the next version will focus on missing features from the 7.x-5.x branch and the upgrade path.

I didn't end up doing the upgrade path yet, there were some regressions that needed to be fixed first.
