Seen that the search service has been added to services but Drupal module page says it is incompatible....

Would be great if this worked.

I will have a look at it soon.

Anyone considered doing a menu service for v6?

Did you test this? When I ported Services to Drupal 6, I only ported some of the available services. Some of them, like the Views Service, obviously couldn't be ported at the time. Now that Views 2 is out and kicking, it seems like a good time to port it over.
