Styling the throbber is a real pain. Triggering it to test your CSS is probably the most time consuming aspect. Is there away that we could replicate how the throbber would appear (as if triggered via a button - not an autocomplete field) so that we can save some of this pain?

I'm evaluating issues for #2932335: Plan for Style Guide v8.x-1.0 release. I think this is not a hard blocker for a stable release, since it can be implemented in a subsequent 8.x-1.1 point release.
