Migrate 2.8 was just released:

This fixes SA-CONTRIB-2015-130:

We only use Migrate for importing the demo data, so we just need to do a new install and verify that the demo data is there.

I updated Migrate and then did a fresh install - the demo content appeared as it should! Then I disabled panopoly_demo and the content went away. Everything looks to be working! Just waiting for the automated tests to finish.
