A very common need, is the ability to have a link with a class like

<a class="button">Tel</a>

It would be nice to add the ability to set classes on the link element in the field formatter. Could be achieved easily. What do you think?

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but if you are outputting the link using a view, then by using the patch in this issue you can Rewrite the output of the telephone field, and add whatever classes you like.
