Corus Entertainment is one of Canada’s most successful integrated media and entertainment companies. Founded by JR Shaw, the company was built from the media assets originally owned by Shaw Communications, and spun off as a separate, publicly-traded company in 1999. Since then, the Company’s asset base has grown substantially through strategic acquisitions and a strong operating discipline. Corus Entertainment's stock is found on the TSX under the symbol CJR.B.

Corus Entertainment’s brands deliver compelling, engaging, interactive and informative content to millions of people every day. Corus’ television services include the kids brands YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon (Canada), TELETOON (English), TELETOON (French), TELETOON Retro (English), TELETOON Retro (French), Cartoon Network (Canada); and the women’s brands W Network, Cosmopolitan TV, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada) and W Movies. Additional assets include ABC Spark, CMT (Canada), Sundance Channel (Canada) and Telelatino; Quebec's French-language channels Historia and Séries+; western Canada’s pay TV service Movie Central, with nine multiplex channels including HBO Canada; and three local over-the-air television stations.

Nelvana is the cornerstone of the Company’s content and production strategy and is renowned for such globally recognized brands as Babar, Franklin and Beyblade. Canada’s leader in children’s publishing – Kids Can Press – is also part of the Corus family.

The Company’s powerful combination of entertainment assets, make Corus an industry leader in Canada and a significant player in the international marketplace. Our success means a stronger Canadian broadcasting industry, a stronger economy and stronger communities across Canada.

Each year, the power and reach of Corus’ broadcasting assets work to assist local organizations, charities and people in need through millions of dollars worth of donated air-time and services, local fundraising and cash support.

Through radio play for new Canadian singers and songwriters, the acquisition, development and production of numerous Canadian television projects and millions of dollars of direct investment in Canadian film production, Corus is helping to build a sustainable and vibrant entertainment industry that is truly Canadian and globally competitive.
