There is inconsistency in the online documentation and in the READMEs about the terminology for multisite. It appears at times as "multi-site" (with hyphen) and other other times as "multisite" (without hyphen). A policy needs to be defined and added to the styleguide about which is the proper usage.

I do not have a strong preference. I lean mildly toward "multisite" (without hyphen).

I would prefer that we use multi-site to refer to the general class of sites using a multi-site configuration and reserve "multisite" for the core features that create a multi-site configuration. Generally speaking, the "multi-" should refer to a number of sites grouped under one configuration and "multisite" should refer to the actual configuration.

If we're looking to very much make life easier for everyone quickly, I'm ok with just multisite to refer to both usages even though it's a tad bit inaccurate.

Interesting. Even on the multi-site page, the reference flips from one version to the other.

Here is some extra information about what this is very confusing. If you type on Google "Drupal Multisite" it appears like "Multi-site" and "Multisite" as well.

Google doesn't care much about punctuation, and I wouldn't take #3 as an indication of anything.

But yes, we should be consistent.
