Because of a requirement on Magnific Popup (not the module but rather the library the module depends on, I need jquery 1.7.2+.

I am also using panopoly that, as with many other contrib modules, doesn't place that nicely with jquery 1.8+.

I wonder if you'd consider updating 1.7.x to 1.7.2? From my tests it seems to work just fine.
