I just installed dbfm and I'm trying to upload a file.
When I click on the upload icon I get the following popup:

Not Found
The requested URL /DrupalInstDir/dbfm_uploadit was not found on this server.

What am I doing wrong?

That's a known fault right now - DBFM relies on drupal being in the base of the webserver at the moment.

I have installed all the modules required and the drupal installation is in the base directory.. I can only create directory

Does dbFM require Clean URLs to be enabled?

Yes, clean URLS are required.
