m.stentaThis raises a question I've been pondering... do we need multiple log types to represent "losses, deaths, sales, etc" of assets? Or can we just use this one "Disposition" log type?
I suppose the Disposition log type could simply have a "Disposition Method" field, which includes some default options like: Sale, Death, Loss, etc. And a Value field, which has different meaning in different methods (ie: Sale + Value means you earned money... Loss + Value means you lost something of value).
Death is a little tricky... because it could be a slaughter (which means you're making money), or something like a disease (which means you're losing money). Maybe death needs to be thought through a little more...
Ultimately, "slaughter" should result in the animal asset being disposed, and another type of asset "Meat" being acquired. That gets into another realm that I am giving more thought to recently: #2401531: [META] Farm Inventory Brainstorm/Discussion

m.stentaAdded "Quantity" field, per the discussion here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2401531#comment-9480487

m.stentaWould "Disposal" be a better name than "Disposition"?
"Disposition" matches the partner type "Acquisition" a little better, but "Disposal" might be more immediately understandable to folks who are new to the system.

BruceDawson commentedI'd keep disposition - and maybe make it a taxonomy to handle multiple disposition types like: sold, slaughtered (usda/private), traded, gifted, ...
Disposal is a different issue that comes up when, for instance, when the government forces you to kill and bury/incinerate a number of (e.g. diseased) animals.

m.stentaAll farmOS repositories have been merged into the farmOS distribution (see #2876992: Merge farmOS repositories into drupal.org/project/farm). I'm going through and moving all open issues from the various project issue queues to the central queue now...

m.stentaI think rather than implementing a specific log type for representing this, we can handle it with any log type: #2401525: New log type: Disposition
Closing this as a duplicate of that new issue...
