Pathauto provides the UI to either enable or disable in the editing mode of each node: "URL path settings" tab and radiobox of "Generate automatic URL alias". Supposedly, if I untick the box, and specify the path of my choice, that should become the (only) path for the node.
However, it is not happening.
For example, when I created a node, specifying my own path (say, "MyPath/MyOwn.html"), it seemed to work. And it is true "MyPath/MyOwn.html" is registered as the path. However, pathauto also creates thier own path like "article/test-pathauto", too! And it seems the pathauto's path is given the priority, to my great annoyance.
Then when I tried to reedit the node, I found the radiobox of "Generate automatic URL alias" was somehow enabled! I can untick it for a moment, but that does not do anything. The situation never changes and the pathauto's path "article/test-pathauto" is still given the priority. When I looked at the node to edit, he radiobox of "Generate automatic URL alias" was enabled again. It is happening regularly (perhaps all the time) with different nodes.
Worse, it seems there is no UI available to delete the pathauto's auto-created path "article/test-pathauto". For example, in the UI of the editing mode of each node, the manually set path ("MyPath/MyOwn.html" in the above case) is the only one I can see and edit. Only the way to delete it is to make the hard way: to remove it directly via the SQL.
I do not know when it started happening, because I have rarely (maybe never) changed the auto-created path before. Possibly it has been like this since I started to use it a month or so ago?
Why is it happening? A bug?
