When creating or editing a content type it's impossible to get the "Don't display post information" text to toggle off. Ideally, when a content administrator unchecks the Display author and date information option off "Don't display post information" would be displayed as tool tip in the vertical tab. When the option is check then "Display author and date information" should be displayed.
They should never be displayed together as they contradict each other.

alexpottThis issue is a normal bug fix, and doesn't include any disruptive changes, so it is allowed per https://www.drupal.org/core/beta-changes. Committed fa2be71 and pushed to 8.0.x. Thanks!
