I have already asked more than once if I could help with the revision of the Portuguese language in Portugal, and until today, NOTHING!

There are more people complaining about it, and there isn't a single administrator who stirs a straw!

Once again, it is sad to see that in pt-pt there are no people capable of maintaining a constant maintenance of translations.

Hello,

Please use english in the issue queue. Did you try to get in touch with the Portuguese group manager, posting on the board, or looking at the localize documentation?

Hi,

Sorry. I'll use.

I contact the Manager today and I'll wait a few days.

The Portuguese still a mess cos they are using the words before the Orthographic Agreement 1990 and in some cases they use the after.

Even we being in the state of the transition till 2016 of the OA 1990, this should be used since I believe the most of the used text are written with the AO 1990.

Thank you

Regards,

Manuela Silva

Oh my dear...
I see that here in Drupal there is the very same as in WordPress (and in the Google Chrome web browser!)
Portuguese users who need to use the portuguese language *with* the 1990 Orthographic Agreement are left without any kind of support from this projects.

I don't really know just what is going on, but something very strange is going on regarding this matter...

Hi,

The managers don't reply to the messages :-(

The Portuguese language still a mess and no-one approve the translations nor fix what is wrong.

They are using the words before the Orthographic Agreement 1990 and in some cases they use the after.

The OA1990 should be in use now.

Thank you

Regards,

Manuela Silva

Hi,

Managers NO contact.

The Portuguese language still without being fixed what's wrong and the suggestions aren't being approved or reviewed.

Eg. 'descrição' is feminine and it is being used as 'masculine' and was approved like that.

Thank you

Regards,

Manuela Silva

Any kind of news regarding the 1990 Portuguese language Orthographic Agreement?

Title: Revisores no Idioma Português - Portugal! » Portuguese translations don't follow the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990

As far as I can read on Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990, not all the Portuguese-speaking countries made the new orthography obligatory. I take there are still countries where the old orthography is used.

As of 2023, the agreement has been ratified and implemented by the Portuguese-speaking countries Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde. Countries like Angola and Mozambique still use the old orthography and have not completed the adoption of the reform. The former Portuguese colony of Macau is not a party to the agreement and retains the old orthography. The agreement's objectives of unifying the orthography in all CPLP countries and compiling a common vocabulary for the entire Portuguese language have not been fully achieved and failed.

Since some countries are using the old orthography, would not creating a new language for the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990 make more sense?
