Option to control how often account profile information is reloaded

Hi, I'm using 7.x-5.8+11-dev version. My client updated their profile image today, and our development environment updated upon page refresh. But our staging site refuses to update and is still showing the old image. We've tried clearing cache and running cron to no avail. Any thoughts as to where this image may be cached that is preventing the update? Thanks!
