Drupal core 7.30
Webform Hints: 7.x-1.4
Webform classes: 7.x-2.1

When hints are enabled on a webform, it negates the custom classes added for input text fields set by Webform classes.
The behaviour disappears when disabling Hints on the webform.

It probably doesn't matters, but Webform Hints was installed before Webform classes.

You're right! This was also discovered in #2277231: Cannot Add Custom Form Control [Patch Provided] and a fix was just committed.

You should be able to solve this problem by using the latest dev snapshot on the project page. The fix will also be included in the next release.
