Is there a way to prevent Safeword from updating the Machine Name when one already exists for that entity (i.e. the entity is being edited?).

I'd like it to work similar to the way it works in Drupal for entity types. You can change the machine name, but you have to do so explicitly. Changing the Label, will not automatically change the machine name.

I tend to use the Redirect module in combination with Safeword, so if the label and path of a node changes, the old path redirects to the new path.

Seems like it already does this by default now, here is an issue to optionally add back this functionality for those that wish it #2688513: Add option for automatically updating changes when editing.
