Req. for variable import folder

At the moment the import folder is static configurable in the admin area of the asset module only.
With this idea each user would be able to batch import from the e.g. user directory.

Solution proposal:
A new "Import Button" in the asset file manager to select the folder importing from.

What do you think about this?

BTW: The "upload to server" e.g. th upload of files to the user specific folder does not matter here, this could be happen in an other way (WebFM, FTP, ...)

I think this would open a can of security issues. We don't want users to "import" files from just anywhere on the server. If the server would not have very tight user permissions, people could gain access to all sorts of confidential files.

Juergen, what are your ideas on this concern?

I'm going to close this. The import function is meant to be used by admins, not by regular users. If you want this functionality, then I'd suggest to use media_mover which integrates with the asset module.
