Problem/Motivation

The vocabulary ID is used for block delta in D7. This limits portability, as a block enabled via e.g. Context may differ from site to site based on the local data.

The effect is also felt in variable names, as the configuration associated with a particular block is saved in a variable also named by vocabulary ID rather than machine_name.

Proposed resolution

Use the taxonomy_vocabulary.machine_name value as the delta.

D7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
