Hello,

the textarea ist fixed to the profile and I can not hide this for some roles without to disable the status module for this people. I my opinion this textarea should be a block. With a block I can set every visible permissions that I want...

admin/config/settings/statuses/advanced -> "Show the status stream on the default user profiles"

Then put the block wherever you want

Hello,

URL is admin/config/statuses/settings/advanced options show how to get the text area out of user profile

Apparently you can use the blocks to define where to display your statuses block or Configure block to specify the pages you want the statuses to apear.
