The Protected Node module adds permissions to define who can use the password feature.
Permissions\Cases | No access at all to the resource | Need to enter the password to see the resource | Can view resource without password, need to enter the password to edit the resource |
Bypass completely the protection (can edit and view without password) | Edit node passwords |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Access protected node password form | 1 | 1 | |||
View protected content (bypass password) | 1 | ||||
Edit protected content (bypass password) | 1 | ||||
Edit content type password | 1 |
In addition to these permissions, there are:
- Access protected node overview page
- Edit any protected node password
Same as Edit content type password
The module also uses the normal node permissions to determine if a user can edit or delete nodes. For example, the "edit own story content" permission determines if a user can edit story content. If not, going to a node/#/edit for a password protected story node immediately returns an "Access Denied" error.
