Commerce add to cart confirmation module (https://drupal.org/project/commerce_add_to_cart_confirmation) creates a "commerce-add-to-cart-confirmation" message type, which is always hidden to user distinct of uid=1 because of Disable Messages module doesn't have a permission for it.

tested working as well! safe to say RBTC? this solved an odd conundrum for me here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2281985
as i didn't know this was affected by the disable messages module.
