The media_access() function has been deprecated and is no longer used by Media.

media_access() should be removed at some point.

@Rob C, thanks for testing the patch!

I've retested #1 and didn't run into any problems when creating, viewing, updating or deleting local/internet/bulk files using Media or File entity.
I'm also writing a change notice and filing/committing patching to the popular media providers that still have some mention of media_access().

Committed #1 to Media 7.x-2.x.

Change notice: is this now also the standard for media/file_entity? It's really great to have these.
