I would like to refer also my error message of this post Forum topic are in the database column is stored with Sticky "-100".
I have long wanted what caused this and am on the file weblinks.weight.inc. one can rewrite the error or the file?
I now had the Module Disable, and everything works as intended. If I activate it again, sticky is stored with 100 or -100.
would be grateful for a solution. Want reluctant to give up the modules
Sorry for my Bad English

gstegemann commentedThis was implemented as a feature in earlier versions of Web Links and is still available in the D7 version. The intended purpose is to order Web Links content by a given weight.
To disable this behaviour you can install and enable the Weight module. See also #2130773: where is weight stored?.
@Nancy: should we in fact remove the Web Links weight feature now? Or document the side effects?

nancydruYes, I wanted to yank it out not long after I put it in. There is no hope of it working in D8 because the sticky field is probably going away.
@fugazi: Storing the weight in the sticky field is a technique that was developed a long time ago. It was pretty much the best we could do before Drupal 7. Now it would be far better to add a field and use Views to sort and display the links.

fugazi commentedThanks for the information, I'll try both ways. regards

jonathan1055 commentedI have made the code corrections and added a patch on #2030765: Editing a sticky node sets db field to -100 for non-weblinks nodes. Do not encode weight and remove the weight.inc file. It includes an update function to fix your bad +100/-100 sticky values. Please test it if you can.
Thanks.
