If there is a required Content Taxonomy field (check boxes) in the content type, the validation massage for not filling in a value is not the usual ‘field is required’ but ‘An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator.’.

It would be nice, if you could change this to the usual message.

Cleanup of old issues. According to maintainer: "active development is only done for the 6.x branch! 5.x is not supported any more".
Open a new issue if problem still exist.
