Hi, this is a great module, but i have some trouble.
Half the time, when saving the edited image in picmonkey, i get the error "Image Editor Save" and nothing more happens.
No matter how many times i try on different pictures, the same error.
But sometimes if i try at a later time, it saves ok ???
Next day, the same, no go, and a couple of hours later, i might get lucky.
Any suggestions ?

duozerskAnjaro,
Please update to the 7.x-1.x-dev version of the module. Then try to reproduce the error.
Then please let me know if you are using the Image Editor Inline or Image Editor for Image fields.
The general way to troubleshoot it would be to check for the JS errors in the browser console. Could you please check for them?
Thanks
AndyB
Comment #2
Anjaro commentedToday it works :)
I will return next time it does not, with more info from the console.
I use Image Editor for Image fields.
Is it always better to use the dev version of modules ?
Or is it only when there is some kind of trouble i should use the dev version ?
Thanks for the reply.
duozerskAnjaro,
Nope, it is not always better to use the dev version. You should always use the latest stable (green) release. The general practice to switch to the dev release is when the dev version has a fix you need and there were no stable version with this fix yet; and when the maintainer asks you to update to the dev release to ease the troubleshooting process.
I will set the status to postponed - please switch it back to active when you will have more info.
Thanks
AndyB

Anjaro commentedThanks, i will do that.

Anjaro commentedOk, today the problem is back.
I use 7.x-1.0 for image fields.
The error is from chrome i hope it makes som sense:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'settings' of undefined picmonkey:41
After this error i started up firefox to get the errors from here also. But now the problem was gone.
I went back to Chrome to test and now everything is fine again ?
So now i will install the dev and wait for the error to come back and report here with the new errors.
duozerskAnjaro,
Good, will wait for the results.
As for the posted messages - the ones like "Blocked a frame with origin ..." are fine and not related to the issue; the ones like "07:05:45.077 PicMonkey ..." are also fine. The only message showing that something is not good is "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'settings' of undefined picmonkey:41" - and it looks like related to the Picmonkey editor itself, and no to the Image Editor module - so I would recommend that we wait for the error to reproduce again, check that it is indeed related to the Picmonkey editor and then contact their support to deal with it.
Thanks

Anjaro commentedHi again
It is very strange, when the image still wont save, it does not matter what browser i use or what editor. Later when i try again for the 10 time, suddenly it works in all browsers and any editor, arrrgh :)
I am close to give up, but i want to do a last effort, so i need to hear from you, what editor you prefer i do the test with, and what browser you want the error log from.
Then i report here.
I use the dont use inline and im on the dev version.
If you want to try it yourself, just say so and i will give you try on a live login.
Thanks for your help
Comment #8
duozerskAnjaro,
Yep, the test login to your site would be the best way to approach this issue. Please send it via the contact form here - https://drupal.org/user/378397/contact
Thanks

duozerskAnjaro,
This issue should be fixed by http://drupalcode.org/project/imageeditor.git/commit/87322f6
Thanks

Anjaro commentedThanks AndyB
Does this go in the 7.x-1.10 release or do i have to manually enter it in the dev that im using now ?
Sorry for being so darn stupid.
duozerskAnjaro,
Please use the 7.x-1.11-rc1 release - https://drupal.org/node/2153903

Anjaro commentedThanks
When using "Image Editor custom overlay" nothing happens when i press picmonkey icon.
But after changing to "jQuery UI Dialog" all seems to work fine.
Not a problem for me, im just saying.
Thanks for your help AndyB
Comment #13
duozerskAnjaro,
If you can check for the Javascript errors in the browser console when using the "Image Editor custom overlay" I would appreciate that.

Anjaro commentedHi if im doing it right, then i see no errros that are different from when i use the jQuery.
Im using Chrome and then Console to get these:
09:51:37.152 PicMonkey: Can't read preferences for user without account picnik_api_module.js.111979a3d078.src:1424

The above is the same when it works with jquery and when it does not work with overlay option.
If you want me to do something else, id be gladly to, just please tell me how to do it.
duozerskAnjaro,
Thank you very much for your time and dedication, really appreciate it.
The above messages are printed by PicMonkey and it is fine. The strange thing is that the custom overlay is not working and not printing any errors. Probably it has to do smth with the browser or Drupal cache... Can you please clear the Drupal cache and then also the Chrome cache and try it again with the custom overlay?
Anyway, I have implemented several overlays exactly for this reasoning - in case the custom one doesn't work you can switch to another one. Glad it works for you with jQuery UI Dialog.
Thanks
AndyB
Comment #16
Anjaro commentedI cleared the cache and tried another browser, IE (win8).
The same thing, no errors, just the same lines as before.
Very strange.
Only thing i can say more, is that in both browsers, when clicking the picmonkey icon, the first to lines in the log comes imediatly, and then there is some thinking for mabye 4-6 sec then the rest of the lines comes.
If you like, you can see for yourself, if that is better.
You can use my wifes account on www.nordek.net , you have the code from last, then i will switch to overlay. Just tell me when you are done, so i can correct it again.
duozerskAnjaro,
I can't see the PicMonkey icon on the http://www.nordek.net/node/2088/edit when logged in... looks like Image Editor is disabled there.
AndyB
Comment #18
Anjaro commentedOh, sorry AndyB
I had the module uninstalled and forgot to set permission again.
You can try now.
duozerskOK, the issue is that the CSS styles from "http://www.nordek.net/sites/all/modules/imageeditor/css/overlays/custom.css" are not being loaded on the page (maybe due to CSS aggregation malfuntioning or smth else). Don't really know why it might be happening. Do you have any advanced CSS aggregation modules installed? Can you try to clear their caches if any?
Thanks
AndyB
Comment #20
Anjaro commentedI dont have any CSS modules installed, that i know of.
Mabye its a theme isue ?
I will try later to switch to standard theme and give you a hint.
Anjaro commentedYes, just tried a standard theme and then there was no problem.
So it must be my theme.
