Hi,
I have two payment methods set up, "Pay by Cheque" and "Paypal Express".
The client isn't shipping anything so there is no shipping address enabled in Commerce.
When they receive an email from a customer the Pay by Cheque is fully functioning regarding the confirmation email - they get the client's details including address which is important to them.
When they receive a paypal payment, the address is stripped out, which means that they can't contact the client without going into the paypal order, which may not be the same address as that entered by the customer.
Is this is known issue in Commerce? I can't seem to find this raised anywhere.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

If a customer pays via Express Checkout, their billing address would be populated on the order later in the checkout process than if they used your on-site checkout form. This feature must be enabled in your payment method configuration. Is it on yours?

I am testing express checkout with paypal sandbox (in which you are not required to provide an address in the dummy personal account setup). Could this be the reason that the billing address returns as simply their name and country, the two fields that are required when setting up the personal account?

Also, I am also not seeing the name of the recipient or their tel no. with the shipping address.

In the express settings I have:
Update billing customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal- checked
and
Ask for a shipping address at PayPal if the order does not have one yet -checked

Cheers

Tom

I've included a screenshot of the checkout process. Think that this is in the right order. The billing info is right at the start of the process so I don't think this is the issue.

Express checkout bypasses most of this-if enabled a button appears on the cart page which directs customer to paypal. The paypal module pulls the shipping and billing address from paypal. Just need to know if i start using this module in a live setting whether I will have both shipping and billing info in its entirety.

Paypal Express Checkout doesn't return the billing address the customer provided. The only thing commerce_paypal_ec can update on the Billing profile is first and last name. From what I can tell the PayPal-generated e-mail notification also doesn't include the buyer's billing address.

I've setup a flow where the user when putting stuff into the cart, it goes directly to checkout, and I put the payment pane on the checkout form. However, even though I am forced to type in the address both on the checkout form and on the paypal payment, the address info is lost in commerce.

I also have this problem. I have both options checked:

Update billing customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal.
Update shipping customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal

But only the shipping information is being filled properly. The billing address only gets the name and Country (I guess the country because it's default).

Any further news on this. I have express on a live site and this does bring up the occasional issue when trying to contact the buyer. The Name and Country are populated in the billing address but nothing else. Tel no should also be there.

Cheers

I can also confirm this, with me the only billing information that comes back from paypal is the customers first and last name since I don't have address form handler setup, the country doesn't get populated into the commerce billing information fields. What should be populated is all fields if address is checked in the commerce_customer_address form handlers.

This banana skin has been around a long time now.

I've spent 3 hours debugging the module, trying to figure out this issue and in the end my problems were solved by simply unchecking the "Update billing customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal" checkbox in Express Checkout payment settings. D'oh...

Hope this saves someone's time as well :)

This is a restriction of the PayPal API. It does not return to Drupal Commerce the billing address the user entered on the PayPal site. Marking as "won't fix" since it can't be fixed by Drupal Commerce.

Hi, only solution are to disable the "Update billing customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal." option in PP EC.

@krlucas: you confirm for PP EC or only PP WPS??

Hi,

This issue is probably related to this issue: https://www.drupal.org/node/2377507. Applied patch from this node are solved my problem: https://www.drupal.org/node/2365785.

User or customer profile seems to be "broken" after the redirect from PayPal if the "Update billing customer profiles with address information the customer enters at PayPal." option is enabled.
