After upgrading to 5.5 node teaser no longer provides a teaser block.

old pages display fine until you edit them?

Have similar problem in 5.5. Thought it worked fine in 5.3. When clicking 'display full post' in teaser setup, only the node title/link will display; nothing in teaser body.
