Would like to see a check box to allow a user to choose whether a post get's sent to Twitter. Perhaps under publishing options?

Overall a good start, but I think there needs to be a few config options like this and the max number of posts per hour patch.

Agreed. This would be very helpful to me. I use the Simple Access module to limit access to some nodes, and it would be nice not to send tweets about nodes that not all users can see.
