Title: menu messed up » 4.7->5.x upgrade: No top level menu categories

Did not yet try that myself. Did you ensure that all updates in update.php were executed?

This looks like a general upgrading issue. You might find some useful information in the upgrade docs or perhaps by searching Drupal.org.

If you'll found a fix for this, I'll be happy to add an entry to the FAQ in the README.

I fixed it with the devel module, with the "Rest all menus" option... Now it sees the top administration menu correctly... But I've lost all my customizations in the menus. not a problem I can do it again.

I think I had my menus a bit messed up... I moved the administration from the navigation menu to a own menu once, but then I decided to move the administration top menus again to Navigation. So maybe is not an upgrade issue.. but having the menus customized...

Since no one else seems to have this issue and a workaround has been found, I'm marking it as fixed.
