Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in taxonomy_menu/taxonomy_menu.module line 653 [#1963608]

When I enabled my site for multiple languages I started to get this error. I was using 7.x-1.4 which gave me the same error on line 1179.

I upgraded to the 7.x-2.0 alpha2 version but same error on the same line although differently numbered.

I added if (is_array($term->description)) as a temporary fix before line 653 but I dont know the real reason for the error.

Can you explain what you did? Did you enable a specific module? It would be helpful to know the steps we can follow to reproduce this problem.
