D7.21, jquery_expander-7.x-1.0
I am sure I have done something wrong (as is usually the case). I can't get this to work.

In the readme:
- Download plugin from http://plugins.learningjquery.com/expander/
and place under libraries/jquery.expander, so you will have file in
libraries/jquery.expander/jquery.expander.js - Is this the whole zip file or just the jquery.expander.js file?
- Download Libraries API and enable modules
- Set in the display settings the field to "Expander". - Is this on the content type edit page? admin/structure/types/manage/page edit tab.

I have the Js working on a D6 site - http://brhepa.com/services-contact. I only had to place the js in the page. D7 won't let me do that anymore without altering tpl files. I am a front end developer, and don't know php.

Do EXACTLY what it says in the README.txt. I had the problem that i did not rename the file that came out of https://github.com/kswedberg/jquery-expander/archive/master.zip to jquery.expander within my sites/all/libraries folder. Of course make sure you give the needed access rights to those files.

After renaming jquery-expander-master to jquery.expander everything works as expected.

You should place the whole extracted zip under libraries/jquery.expander folder.
The final step is setting formatter for the field which is on Manage Display page of content type.

I'm having the same issue, too. I'm using Drupal 7.53 and have tried the 7-1.0 and 7-1.x-dev, I have downloaded and moved the contents of the jquery library into library/jquery.expander, and cleared all the caches. But the field formatter still does not show on the Manage Display page.

Thank you tiko! #2 worked for me. Place the zip in the libraries/jquery.expander folder, THEN extract it.
