First thing, I did go to the configuration section and I did add the node types as well as "Display in full nodes" and "Display in node teasers" check boxes. However, when I go to the selected node types, I can not see the AddThis widget. I check permissions as well and still nothing. What may I be missing? Is there anything I can check?

You need to enable the addthis_displays module to select a display otherwise nothing will be displayed.

What snehal has said does not work for the 6.x.3.0-beta line: There is no addthis_displays module available for enabling.

The AddThis toolbar will show if I add the block in Site Building > Blocks , adding the AddThis block to a visible Region, however the node type limitations set in the AddThis admin configuration are not respected. Actually, the toolbar does show in the content area, but it is at the bottom of the content as part of the 'links' section, rather than the top, and I can't figure out how to move it.

Sorry, not that helpful but I thought I'd better correct myself.

This support request is 3 years old and is about a version of the module that is no longer supported. (The answer in #2 is about a different version and not relevant to you).

I hope it has been resolved by now, but ver. 6.x-3.0-beta2 is under any circumstance no longer supported, so I am closing.

Feel free to reopen this is still relevant to you and applies to a supported version of AddThis (e.g 7.x-4.x).
