I get fatal error while importing data into a cck type, which has a date field, which only takes year value.
I'm using date 1.6 version.

The fix of #2 has been committed and was included in the 5.x-1.3 release. Setting this issue as duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/192211. If you think this is still an issue, reopen it after trying the latest version.
