Hi,
Do I need a SSL certificate to run Drupal on my server? I am editing on the server, and tried to add the Views module, and I get this error message:
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to www.portuguesesonnets.com.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
I phoned my hosting company, and they mentioned the need to have a SSL certificate...
Is this something I need to purchase?
Thanks...appreciate the help,
Michael

drupal does not require ssl. The views.module also does not require ssl. Are you running any module that is trying to implement secure sockets?
I am trying to implement
I am trying to implement @font-your-face; I'm realizing that may be requiring the secure sockets, as it is pulling in fonts from Google, etc?
I will disable it. I was trying to load a font using CSS, but having trouble; thought that would help.
Thanks!

@fontyourface doesn't require SSL either. It would be a security module like securepages or some other.
Still stumped
Oh, I'm still stumped!
I can't figure out what would be the cause of secure pages or any other SSL issue...how would I find out what is wrong? I've Googled around for an answer...is there something in a php file that would be causing the problem?
Thanks so much,
Michael

I'd set up a local environment and test the install. If it works well there I'd consider changing hosts. Drupal does not force SSL certificates to be used. Thus it wouldn't be in any of it's own php files.
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks a lot!
I notice I need to install the new version of Drupal, I'll try that...
Ugh, finding a new host...I guess it's not that bad.
Thanks so much,
Michael
