When the event calendar is empty, there is a link to "Create an event!" displayed on the event page.
This link seems to be hardcoded, without the ?q=
Note that It works fine with clean url enabled.

When no nodes created, the same problem is present on the News, Photos and release pages.

These links are hardcoded in the views "empty text" for the associated views...makes sense to change them to the ?q= form to support clean url disabled setups.

1. open \event_calendar\event_popup\js\event_popup.js
2. go to line 99
var url = Drupal.settings.basePath + 'node/add/' + node_type;
3. change it to
var url = Drupal.settings.basePath + '?q=node/add/' + node_type;

@filkt

Not sure the relevance of your follow up post on this closed issue, which was unrelated to event popup.

However, your suggested fix will eventually break if you just manually edit that file like that. It would be better to report your bug/fix upstream to the maintainers of the event calendar module, in their issue queue, so they can take a closer look.
