Userpoints per visits not working with panels

I've been trying to get userpoints_nc page visits to grant content authors points when their content is viewed but couldn't get it to work. I suspected it was because i was displaying the full node with panels and disabled it, i then refreshed my browser and it worked with the default drupal full node view.

Can anyone suggest a possible workaround to get this working with panels? i would really be grateful.
