The Asset Manager module is an upload, organization, and placement controller for all non-textual content on a website. It currently handles images only, but can be easily expanded to keep track of any asset you expect to need, including pdf documents or Flash movies.

The module leverages the power of CCK fields for images and file uploads, taxonomy terms for keeping track of all visual content, and imagecache for automatically creating multiple versions of an image for use in different places on a website. It incorporates an upload center with a sortable list of all media, image, and document files on the site, a jQuerified taxonomy browser to find that one piece of content that you need to place 'right here', and a WYSIWYG preview window all in one handy panel.

This Handbook page is still a stub, and needs to be filled up with more info on how to use Asset Manager, along with some screenshots of it's coolest features.

This module would seem to be a great "asset" to the drupal pool, but I've not been able to get it to work, as is the same for many others.
