I'd like to please you to give the module translators some info about a string freeze... so we could start translating. There are so many changes that would take some time to translate, but i'm not sure if it makes sense to start now...!?

merlinofchaos commentedOnce I get into -beta, I'll put out a call for translators to start looking at it. Theoretically it's not far away, but it's been not far away for awhile now. :P

merlinofchaos commentedThis is a task more than a feature. An important one, though.

hass commentedAs a side note. I have created an updated pot file and found many duplicated strings... you should review the code... often "mixed case with same words" or simply a point on the end of a sentence. We should merge such strings into one string...
merlinofchaos commentedI would welcome patches to fix these strings, especially the obvious ones about periods missing/not missing.
Once beta comes I will publically ask for a string review, and when that seems like it's basically done I will ask for translators.

merlinofchaos commentedUpdate: We will string freeze at Panels 2 RC.

panchoOh my god, that's early!
If string freeze can't be postponed to RC2, we'll need to slide-in at least one more beta in 1-2 weeks.
The UI really needs quite some polishing, and if we want to somewhat improve usability and translatability, more strings will be changed than kept. We all are not even at that point though, as there are still functionality implementations by Sam and several important bugfixes to be done.
P.S. I'm ready to help with the German translation, as soon as we reached that stage.
merlinofchaos commentedI'd say we should prioritize UI string tasks now. Translating is a big job; we want to make sure the translators have time to do it.
hass commented@Pancho: I've updated the POT and German translation. There is nevertheless very much to do (~50%)... so let's jump in and post your patches here, please.

merlinofchaos commentedThere's not much point in leaving this issue open.
