I frequently see the infamous error image (see https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/staticmaps/?hl=en#Limits) instead of a static image, even in 7.x-2.1 and in latest dev, even if the number of clicks per day is very low (just on a local and sandboxed dev server).

It seems to be related to #1489042: Static Map Image Doesn't Show - 403 Forbidden.

This renders the module unusable for me. Any ideas?

Between Google's changes to their API and resolved issues like #1489042: Static Map Image Doesn't Show - 403 Forbidden, I'm going to call this one fixed. I don't have the problem on my test site.

If you still experience issues with this when using the latest 7.x-2.x-dev version of the module, please re-open this issue.
