This is a meta issue for discussion and to track release blocker bugs and tasks for a stable 7.x-1.0 release. Recently released rc3 included a lot of fixed bugs and new features but that's not enough for a stable release. In addition to the remaining bugs I've not seen any public discussion about the stable release so this issue is a good chance to raise your concerns.

I'll go trough all opens issues in the coming days and tag those that I consider as release blockers. Obviously any help is more than welcome in reviewing and fixing the issues.

We have a ton of changes since rc3 so I think it's best to release yet one more rc before 1.0. I'm trying to squeeze in as many issues as I can in the coming days and then release rc4. If that goes well without major blockers the relation should be then ready for first stable release.

Tagged #1375794: Create tests for relation tokens. There are still no tokens tests, and there have been a couple of bug reports related to it, so it would probably be good to get some in before a realease.

It's great to see all the work going in to the 8.x branch so that it is ready when D8 is ready. I suggest, however, that it is symbolically important to get the 7.x branch into a stable release to show prospective adopters that the project itself is ready for adoption. (That is, of course, unless it isn't!)

Is it just a matter of resources needed to complete the 7.x-1.0 release, or are there blockers that are out of this project's control?

I'm afraid I already know one more release blocker that isn't listed here. Namely the feeds integration, it is not completed and even more work in progress version of that sub module is included in latest dev.

maybe I'll roll yet another rc, I just realized entity collector also needs more work before stable release.

It would be helpful for the rc ... don't like running dev modules in production. :-)

But perhaps it would be helpful to report I am not having any problems with the latest dev release.

Status update, we're really close to release now. There is still a chance for relation stable in 2014.
