I have changed the media_gallery_thumbnail to scale my images to 300x200 px.

The images thumbnails display fine in the Gallery. However on the Galleries page (where the first image in a gallery is used as the thumbnail for that gallery) the thumbnail is not centered and is instead top-aligned.
