I am implementing a set of features related to newsletters for my employer. Newsletter templating is the first one, content bundling and workflow optimization being others. I offer to join my efforts as a maintainer of the simplenews_template module and port it to d7.

Might it be possible to pop into http://drupal.org/node/1154084 and offer an update? It's been over a year in that discussion as no updates as to whether there are any plans for a D7 port. As the new maintainer, I figure you will be able to tell us if there are any plans on that front. Thanks.
