Was going to have a quick look, but it's not clear how redhen & redhen demo are linked.

Certainly the former is a module & the latter's a feature but there's talk about this being an install profile.

Clear simple instructions to test this out would be good. I'm assuming I can drop the module/feature into a default D7 multisite module folder and simply enable them both. That sounds too simplistic though.

Hey Mike, thanks for your interest in the project! We're excited to have you give it a spin.

RedHen Demo is an installation profile, not a feature, with a README.txt that restates this. (Unfortunately, the D.O. project pages don't denote "install profiles" the way that they do modules and themes.)

As with other install profiles, it ships with a commented make file and builds the same as any other install profile. Off the top of my head, I'm not really sure how to make this more clear. Are you asking that we link to the D.O. documentation for how to use an install profile and Drush make?

(Moving this ticket to the RedHen Demo project queue.)

From my point of view I have no problem installing the module(s) (I think) What I can't figure out is how to use or config CRM, if I create a contact type, how do I then add a contact ? I set up CoreCRM and it provides a little start up like add contact and list. I imagine in order to set up the demo I would need to set up a separate site, will this give me the info I am looking for?

I am running one with Ubercat and the other with Commerce, and just testing them both.
Both great ideas, in my opinion with integration of a good mail system, Drupal will become the first open source full service business platform. Its a remarkable achievement. I am not a developer so my hats off to all of you!

CRM is a foreign language to many folk, I would be glad to help write up some documentation once I can figure this out.

Title: More Docs » Improve documentation
Issue summary: View changes

Suggestions (from a random user trying out Redhen) - some easy wins (best left to someone who knows Redhen better than I do right now) -

  • Use the "Documentation link" on your project to link from the project page direct to the README.txt
  • Add a Community Docs subpage of the existing Redhen documentation for the profile, telling us what we're getting (eg is this like Commerce or more like Kickstart?)
  • Give some suggested steps to explore the system further, eg
    • For demo data, load up this .sql.
    • Next try configuring a payment page using Redhen Donation.

Thanks :)
