Liked the bundling of apps, but this and another distribution had problems with permissions and/or installation directory.
The sites/all/ directory IS writable, but the site/default/ directory is write protected (555) after Drupal installs. The apps images end up in the sites/default/ directory rather than the sites/all/ directory where they belong. I have to suspend the installation while I make the default directory writable before things will proceed.
I'm not sure if this is an apps problem or one with this profile, because another distribution using apps had a similar flaky problem that was strongarmed and made usable by the same fix.
Really. The apps images should be put into the sites/all directory rather than the sites/default one. Something screwy here.
Annoying -- but something I could live with temporarily.
Anyhow -- apps is a nice touch - IF it will install stuff without permissions errors.

nedjoWe're working on more informative messaging re Apps install options in #1555628: Add smart "Verify apps support" screen. Until that patch is applied in Apps, I'll likely add the latest version there to Open Outreach.

nedjoThe uploaded images are correctly put into the site's files directory by apps. If there are file issues, likely this would be caused by permissions in the files directory.
