Hey there,

i suggest to improve the way for selecting drupal content for a campaign.
At the moment a user who wants to "transfer" drupal content to mailchimp by the module has to write shortcode (i.e. "[mailchimp_campaign|entity_type=node|entity_id=1|view_mode=teaser]"), for a technical user that is rock solid, but for the most of the normal editors this is mental overload (which is okay, they have to concentrate on other things :)).

In my opinion: first priority is to provide a graphical interface to select drupal content (to make it unnecessary for editor to know/find out a specific node id).

On his Blog ( http://thinkshout.com/comment/120#comment-120 ) Lev suggested to learn from other modules which already solved this "content selection challanges", i.e. he mentioned: http://drupal.org/project/linkit

I guess technical integration should stay on Lev shoulders (is the Mailchimp Sponsoring going on or was it a fixed functionality budget?) - but let us know if we could provide more help,

thanks.

Regards,
Paul

Hey,

me again - i just checked out the linkit module and the functionality this module provides is exactly what is necessary for a easy mailchimp campaign creation.

One idea: In the mailchimp module settings the administrator provides default values for "entity_type" and "view_mode", in campaign creation the editor selects content through linkit mechanism and then the a working "shortcode" would be ready... What do you think?

Paul

This sounds like a superb idea - is this feature likely to be available within the next month?

That sounds really nice!
I was using simplenews with simplenews_content_selection,
but would love to move to mailchimp with a nice graphical content selection option! :)

keep up the good work :)

Hey Lev,

Any news on this? It is a major setback for using the Mailchimp module for most users. The core functionality should allow non-technical users to add any content straight to a campaign (without having to know an ID).

We really appreciate the hard work on this module, but this feature request would improve it dramatically!

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.
