ALERT: Flash Gallery + Simpleviewer problems with IE7 = Flash 9 problem = reinstall latest Flash rev.

Has anyone seen this?
Is this known, verified or reproducible?

I yet don't have a clue... about a possible solution.
All I know is that everything else is now working fine on a fully loaded site including Lightbox V2 which I installed yesterday.
So I imagine that Flash Gallery should eventually be able to handle IE7 too.

I did check your pages and some others (to try to find the differences between your code and mine. No luck... No differences so far.
Except that your page seems to contain fewer modules. Spent another few hours this weekend and yesterday... Still no luck...

I am most probably missing a little something that will do the difference... or else the problem occurs when used with another module.
Will check again the image module to make sure.

Did check the site with IE6 and IE7... on other machines 20 miles apart ;-) Still both browsers won't cooperate.
Under Firefox the module works fine from everywhere.

Now, just found out that you've posted that Flash Gallery is incompatible with Image module 5.x-1.3+ on July 22nd.
And I am using Image module 5.x-1.4... with the corrections in the function suggested here: http://drupal.org/node/159484
Should there be any other corrections since it works fine under Firefox? Could it have something to do with IE6+7 hickups?

I have to say I am a bit confused now. I'd like to use Flash Gallery.

Which version do you finally recommend to use?
The original stand-alone one at http://drupal.org/project/flash_gallery or
the new one included in SWF Tools at http://drupal.org/project/swftools?

I hope we don't need to go back to an older Image module since their latest 2 releases have corrected several things.

Sounds like an idea but how do I put the script at the bottom page, before the end body tag?
I mean, do I have control over this script's location in Drupal? From where?
Or do I have to modify something in the module itself...?

Still actively learning Drupal tricks here. Humm.

Well... the happy ending of IE7 - Flash Gallery saga... that started to drive me nuts.

I just found out about Adobe Flash player 9 having some bugs which have been corrected July 10th (last revision)
Notably with IE7 on Vista as well as IE6... in some cases.

After a lot... of hours trying to find a solution to my problem (here and at a customer's site), I found the right info in the SWFObject Support Forum.

Everything is NOW working fine!!!
I still just need to go and visit my customer and update their Flash player...

A little surprised that Adobe didn't push this update... Seems to me quite a few people have a bad Flash 9 player version...

For now, it is simple, remove Flash Player with their provided tool : http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
and reinstall the latest Flash 9 corrective by opening your different browsers (one by one) on a page containing flash.

Uninstalling and reinstalling is the only way to properly deal with corrupt flash player installs which seem to happen on random occasions when upgrading to IE7 / Vista etc. The telltale signs are when SWFObject does not seem to detect your proper flash version or always shows alternate content when you know you have flash installed.
