For some reason, i get this error "Problem adding or updating tags" for all files / roles / users. I've played around with permissions and roles for ages, and switched to the dev version to see if that helped (it didn't).

Is there an optimal setup for the permissions for a role and user so that they can add tags (I'm also planning a second user class that can see tags but can't edit them). Any advice would be appreciated.

PS - I can tag a file when uploading, and that works...it's when I try to use the "edit" tab after the file is in filedepot that I get this error. I have tried everything to get this work, including resetting everything I could to default settings, and re-uploading many test files. Any help would be appreciated.

That message should not occur if you have atleast one group or role permissions with folder view right.

Thanks Blaine...I certainly do have users and roles that have "view" permission this folder, and I'm currently logged in as the site admin and have given myself all permissions for this folder. Still can't edit the tags though!

Something must be seriously wrong - since I haven't started using filedepot intensely yet, I have tried re-installing the module, and even that didn't work.

Next I will try dropping all the tables associated with filedepot and then re-installing...and if that doesn't work, dropping the entire drupal database and re-installing. That's got to fix it, but it is quite unsatisfying because I'll never know what was wrong.

Hey, just writing with an update. I tried dropping the entire drupal database and re-installing (using install.php), then re-enabling filedepot and all its required modules.

I created new users and gave them appropriate permissions and made folders to which they have view and upload-with-approval permissions. I uploaded a test file, logged out, and logged in with my admin account. Tried to add a tag with the "edit" tab, and sure enough, "Problem adding or updating tags" pops up again!!

One thing to note - I did not wipe and re-install the drupal directory or the module directories, since I figured re-making the database/tables would do the trick. I guess I'm going to have to go so far as to completely wipe and re-install from the .tgz files. What an incredible pain.
