I could not reproduce this. With an event with the incredibly creative title 1 All day event 2 All day event 3 All day event 4 All day event 5 All day event 6 All day event 7 All day event 8 All day event 9 All day event 10 All day event 11 All day event 12 both an all day event and an event with a specific time were truncated with "7 All..." in iCal for the Mac.
Are you sure this isn't to do with the behaviour of your particular calendar client?
If you're still seeing this, I'd suggest checking it across more than one calendar client, and then documenting the exact length of the titles in question, and where they get truncated, providing the title string here so there is more to work with and the same title can be tested by others on other installs. (Not that there is anything specific with title content; just it allows for direct comparison of results.) :)
