I need some steps to reproduce because I have a couple of dozens of tests that tells me that this behavior works fine :)

On a website I have setups of different Content Types, View Panes and Pages which I organize via Page Manager.

At the end I was not satisfied with the layout capabilities of this setups.

The layout possibilities of Display Suite in your screencast on Youtube however sound very flexible.

In order to evaluate the strength of Display Suite vs. the functionality of Page Manager I started to play around between two content types -- one based on Page Manager, the other one on Display Suite and Field Group (The Layout for Page in Form function does not work because of an endless spinning blue cirle).

Display Suite is limited because of missing capabilities like HTTP-Redirects, Contexts and Relationships.

Thus I decided to go for the strength of both Modules -- Display Suite for single pages with flexible layouts and Page Manager for listings.

After deactivating View Mode per Node, Page Manager could be activated again but Switch editor state in Display Suite can not be safed AND layout can not be changed any more.

If anyone has this as well, please reopen, I still can't reproduce this :/
