I have installed your module, works great per node. My understanding is that I could add CSS universally to a specific content type. If this is correct where do I do that, I don't see that option in the content type?

Yes, that feature is only currently available in the D7 version, as stated on the project page: "Code per content type has not been back ported for D6." Feel free to submit a patch!
